Denotations & Connotations - Coca cola

Analysis :

Denotations - Here we see a famous brand who sells fresh fizzy drinks which shows in the advert, the drink is placed in the sand on a hot sunny day at the beach and product information at the top of the advert.

Connotations -

The use of the fizzy drink in the hot sand at a beach (well most people get thirsty and low on energy from the sun and hotness) links to having a icy cold refreshing drink when your somewhere that is humid and your dehydrated. They made it a simple advert because of how well know of a brand Coca Cola is which shows the main focus of the advert is the sign of the brand which mostly attracts audience into buying what they have invented. Looking at the background of the advert, the use of the hot sunny day connotes that they are trying to persuade the audience into drinking this whenever they need a drink. This also creates a high level of contrast with the bold red writing of the product information. This, when combined with the use of ' Taste the feeling' paints Coca Cola as a good source and will make buyers amused by what they have been sold. This also shows Coca Cola as the classier option amongst the technology giants, distinguishing them from other fizzy drinks brands such as Pepsi, Fanta, Miranda, etc.
