Establishing a Concept & Brand Identity

1) The Bio - Sports - The sport of my fictional person is them being a professional basketballer. Their role is being a player in a basketball team. They will support a charity that is focused on animals.

1) Plan for website:

The main purpose of my website is to boost the basketballer’s career, personality and achievements, while also showing that they are a positive role model because they support an animal charity.

2) Link to brief:

My website links to the brief because it presents a positive role model through the basketballer. They are shown as successful, hardworking and supportive of an animal charity. This gives the audience someone positive they can look up to.

3) Actors/performers:

A friend will play the role of the basketballer. They will be photographed playing basketball. I may also use photographs of them with animals.

4) Locations:

A local basketball court for action photographs or a sports hall.

Statement of Intent – Website

My aim is to create a professional-looking website for a fictional basketball player who is played by my friend. The website will show their basketball career, success and characteristics, but will also focus on their support for an animal charity. I want the basket baller to be shown as a positive role model who uses their popularity to help animals. My target audience will mainly be teenagers and young adults who are interested in basketball, sport and animals.

On the website, I will use a navigation bar, a large main image, information about the person, their achievements, photographs and a section about the charity. I will use colours such as orange, black and white because they link to basketball and will make the website look sporty. I will use bold fonts for titles and headlines to make them stand out.

The basketballer will be shown as talented, determined and achievable, but also caring because they support the animal charity. I think this will make the character seem like a good role model. The charity section will also give the website a positive message and encourage the audience to care more about animals. For the photographs, I will use my friend as the basketballer. I will take pictures of them playing basketball on a court. I will use props such as a basketball, basketball clothing and maybe some charity related signs or images for animals. I will keep the same colours, fonts and style across the website so that all the pages look the same and simple. 

Overall, I want my website to look realistic and powerful, as if it was made for a real professional basketball player.
