Key Concept Analysis

 

Language - The title, tag line, billing block (information about the director and the production company) are typical codes and conventions found on posters. The main prop of this poster was the costume (which as a disturbing face mask) as it implies a man covering his entire face with an unusual looking face mask which shows it is a horror film.

Audience - This looks like it would be targeted at an audience over 15 as you can tell by the poster it is targeted at super natural and violence. At the top of the poster, it says the name of the  director, and other films he has made which means an audience who has enjoyed his previous films, could be looking forward to watching his new one.

Industry - The film was produced by Universal Pictures, Blum house Productions and Crooked Highway. Universal Pictures is normally known for any type of films such as horror or romantic films which could attract audiences. After being abducted in a locked basement, a boy starts receiving calls on a disconnected phone from the killer's previous victims.

Representation - The focus of the poster shows a man with a white painted fae mask who wears a black long hat and glasses to hind his identity as much as possible.
